Content management
EPiServer's "quick-edit" feature is highly regarded by web content editors, allowing simple page updates to be made in seconds while the normal edit mode provides advanced page editing functionality. New page creation is via pre-defined templates. Menu management includes a user-friendly click and drag function to move existing pages within the site structure.
Content scheduling
Specify the exact date and time that you want pages automatically published and removed from your site. This is particularly useful for embargoed press releases, job adverts, special offers, opening times or seasonal messages.
Online form creation
EPiServer's sophisticated form creation tool allows editors to create new forms using intuitive click and drag functionality. Form data can be emailed to you, stored in a database or both.
Multi-lingual
EPiServer allows a site to be deployed in numerous languages. Each page can have any number of language versions within an accompanying language specific site menu structure. A visitor to your site can switch languages at any point during their visit so to see the current page in a different language.
Content personalisation
If visitors have logged in to use an extranet or intranet then content can be personalised by user or user group, allowing visitors to see personalised content.
Workflow & publishing
Publishing updated pages is simply a process of clicking and confirming. However, if workflow is required then EPiServer provides an authorisation system that enforces senior editors to approve editors work prior to page modifications being published.
Versioning & rollback
With page versioning activated you can view each version of a page with the editor name referenced and so providing an audit trail. If there is a need to rollback to a previous version of a page then a two-click operation by an authorised editor will publish the earlier version.
Asset management
Graphics files and document files are managed using EPiServer's advanced media management system allowing digital assets to be easily catalogued with meta data for future retrieval and usage on pages.
Web accessibility
The web pages that EPiServer creates can comply with A, AA or AAA accessibility standards as defined by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative.
Integration with other systems
EPiServer is a Microsoft.NET based application and has won numerous awards from Microsoft. Various connector tools have been developed for integrating EPiServer with other software including Microsoft Commerce Server for ecommerce sites or with Microsoft SharePoint for intranet or collaboration solutions.
Administration
The web-based administration system allows all aspects of your site to be managed by EPiServer, including editor permissions. EPiServer also integrates with Microsoft Active Directory and other directory services via LDAP allowing editors to have a single sign-on from Windows.
