Job purpose

If you enjoy playing a key technical role on digital projects, are experienced in building .NET web applications and websites and have excellent client-facing skills then we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about building high quality, maintainable software to join the Technology Development Team. You will be experienced in delivering digital solutions using web technologies. Client interaction through participation in stand-ups and planning meetings is essential. Working closely with the project technical leads, this role ensures that our implementations meet the technical objectives and departmental standards and practices. Ideally you will already be experienced in developing CMS or eCommerce driven solutions and experience directly in Episerver, Kentico or Umbraco will be an advantage. 

 

Responsibilities

Working within the development team you will take responsibility for the implementation of project and BAU tasks including: 

  • Design and develop new software or modify existing software to meet business requirements 
  • Work closely with all members of the team to deliver high-quality code that is tested and delivered across the full Software Development Life Cycle 
  • Participate in all Agile planning meetings and stand-ups 
  • Collaborate effectively with technical leads, project managers, business analysts, quality assurance and    other team members 
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with clients
  • Assist the team to provide effort estimates for new features to be developed 
  • Discuss where applicable or assist client support members in detailing out code changes required for BAU 
  • Take ownership of small functional changes and bugs raised by clients in an implementation capacity. 

 

Required skills and experience

  • A minimum experience of 3 years in C#, with a solid working knowledge and industry experience of the .NET ecosystem including: 
  • C#. MVC and ASP.NET, Web Services and SQL 
  • Proven and solid experience developing websites and web-based applications 
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming 
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and an understanding of how to liaise with clients in a positive and collaborative way
  • Experience of working within an Agile environment 
  • Familiar with the stages of the software development lifecycle including source code control, branching 
  • Experience with a .NET CMS such as Episerver, Kentico or Umbraco would be an advantage but not essential
  • You are keen to explore and learn new technologies and methodologies
